Incident Action Plan Workshop – Pipestone

An incident action plan (IAP) formally documents incident goals (known as control objectives in NIMS), operational period objectives, and the response strategy defined by incident command during response planning. But what does that really mean? One of the most difficult hurdles for Public Safety leaders in today’s environment is to develop an effective Incident Action Plan (IAP) in accordance with the National Incident Management System (NIMS). Within this session, you will review the requirements for the development of IAPs for special events as well as incidents. The planning process will be described as well as demonstrated through a hands-on exercise. By the end of the course, you will realize how simple developing an IAP really is.
